PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Those in the LGBTQI+ community often face greater psychological distress, partly due to minority stress, and despite seeking help, they frequently encounter dissatisfaction with mental health services. This issue is often linked to a lack of cultural competence among providers.

Furthermore, bisexuality is one of the most prevalent sexual orientations, yet it is underserved both by providers and in the community. This training takes a focused look at the umbrella of bisexual and multisexual identities and the oppressive forces that impact both clinical care and health outcomes as well as how crucial culturally competent practices are. While this training is geared primarily towards clinicians working with Bi+ clients, it may also be a helpful learning tool for all who wish to increase their knowledge on bisexual allyship.
